The 5 Family Camping Essentials

Camping Children Jumping Happily on a hill

As you fall in love with camping you can shape your "set-up" to make it perfect for you and your family.  But first, you need to know the essentials.

So here are the 5 essentials for a successful family camping trip.

1: SOMETHING TO SLEEP IN

Normally a tent, but it doesn't have to be.  Many camp sites have sleeping "pods" or "cabins" which if you've not camped before could be a cheap and easy way to give camping a try.

If you are investing in a tent, make sure to read our top tips for buying a family tent.  Your tent should come with all necessary items included, namely pegs and poles.

2: BED & BEDDING

You need something to sleep on (a bed), in (nightwear), and under (a sleeping bag or duvet).  And adults - don't forget your pillows!

If you're wondering what your babies or children should sleep on, read our fantastic guide to what camping children should sleep in.  This is why Kids Camping Store launched!
